BRAVO is our favorite activity.  My daughter Taylor, who has CP,
loves riding the hroses.  BRAVO has a great staff of volunteers who
are very loving & carng.  Taylor has gained confidence, self-esteem,
coordination, balance & an extended attention span.  I highly
recommend this program - you'll love it!

Being a BRAVO volunteer- I much enjoy working w. the kids.  Week
to week, you see kids improve in areas such as self-esteem & most
of all - confidence - because they can do it.  They enjoy their
success -- & I enjoy watching them be successful.

BRAVO!  Peruvian Paso Equitherapy Director, Susie Levy, received the following letter from former student, Paula Sewell.  Paula, an over-40 avid horse enthusiast who suffers from diabetes, unexpectedly sustained a hypertension related stroke.  A highly successful grant write by trade, Paula spent weeks at various hospitals & rehab facilities fighting to regain control over her life.

Recognizing her own need for therapy, Paula, a former volunteer & admirer of eui-therapy, sought out her old friends at BRAVO!, excelling rapidly, graduating from basic to a more accellerated program.  The following is testament to the miracle healing power of our equine friends:

Dear Susie & BRAVO! staff,

Thought I'd share some photos w/ you to say "Thanks so much  for all your help w/ my stroke rehab program."  I am now enjoying my second jumping lesson (my third was today) - not too shabby for someone who could barely walk a year ago, huh?  I realize you probably don't advocate this jumping stuff,.  However, I've been fascinated w/ it since I rode in the Tally-Ho-Wagon & followed a fox hunt in which my 8 yr. old nephew was riding.  That was close to 15 years ago.  So you see, it has taken me that long to get this far, and I may not have gotten here at all without you & the BRAVO! program.  By the way, it's hard to tell in the picture, but that is a BRAVO! t-shirt I am wearing - my mini-stuffed BRAVO! horse remembrance has a place of honor on my bedroom chest of drawers.  Again, thanks so much for your help -- especially those wonderful folks who had the dubious honor of hanging onto my legs so I didn't fall off.

Paula Sewell

We salute you Paula & coontinue to support your couragious tenacity by cheering you on w/ a loud, heartfelt "BRAVO!"

I just wanted you to know how much we appreciate you &  your gracious volunteers.  You have no idea of how much BRAVO! means to Shannon.  She talks about riding horses just about every day.  We are so thankful for her to have this opportunity.  Even when she is having a difficult day, she can still ride & feel good about herself.  You have always been so kind & patient w/ the kids.  I know that someday God will reward you for it.  Thanks again for all you do - and God bless you.
